Lewis Wright

Lewis Wright was nominated for Rising Star in the 2016 Downbeat International Critics Poll, was awarded Ensemble of the Year in the 2016 Parliamentary Jazz Awards with 'Empirical' and was awarded the Worshipful Company of Musicians prize in 2011. He has performed at venues such as the Sydney Opera House, the Royal Albert Hall, the Barbican and has been a featured soloist with Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Centre Orchestra. Lewis's Compositions have been played across Europe, most notably on BBC Radio 3 and BBC Radio Scotland and featured on Film ('About Ray').
In the last 10 years Lewis has composed for and played vibraphone internationally with established, forward-thinking jazz group 'Empirical', who he has won major awards with, including Parliamentary Jazz Awards and a MOBO award. They have played in many European jazz festivals and produced 5 albums of original works.
