Lucy Glover 

Producer (March 2014 - April 2015)

 

Lucy is a freelance arts manager, specialising in dance. She began her dance training at the Madelaine Kelly School of Dancing and went on to graduate from Trinity Laban with a BA (hons) in Dance Theatre (2009). 

 

Since completing her training Lucy has gone on to work in arts administration for Dance UK, Retina Dance Company, Malashock Dance Company (USA) & IdeasTap. Lucy managed events such as Dance UK's 'Launch', South East Dance 'Movin Oxford', and the Sky Arts Bursary Seminars in partnership with IdeasTap. Whilst at IdeasTap Lucy developed opportunities and funding for dancers and choreographers including the opening ceremony performance for the UEFA Champions League Final at Wembley Stadium (2011). She worked closely with IdeasTap partners including Sky Arts, Roundhouse and the BFI. Her freelance clients have included Rosie Whitney-Fish, Cloud Dance Festival, and Team London Bridge for the London Bridge Live Arts festival 2013. As recipient of the Dance UK Business of Dance Bursary 2013 she undertook a placement as Assistant Producer at Scottish Dance Theatre to explore and develop skills as a dance producer.

Lucy joins Cathy Waller Company in 2014 as Producer for the company's first UK national tour in 2015. 

Christopher Preece

Composer & Musician 

 

Multi-instrumental musician Christopher Preece trained at Trinity College of Music as a jazz musician, but since has worked collaboratively in a variety of theatre settings. 

 

In recent years, he has toured UK theatres three times with the award-winning Tangere Arts (Tin Soldier, A Thousand Slimy Things, The Pardoner's Tale) and toured outdoor festivals twice with Graeae Theatre's acclaimed adaptation of Hughes' "Iron Man". In 2013 he made a contemporary music/theatre piece "Closed Circuit" with composer Jamie Hamilton (Tate Britain) and is resident musician with contemporary dance choreographer Cathy Waller (Winner, London 2012 Dance Award). He also is co-director of  The Mostly Everything People, a humorous physical theatre company.

 

He has played live for BBC Radio 2, Jazz FM, is a busy educator in Newham, and plays drums with the band "Other Animals" 

Kassie Starkey

Dancer

 

Kassie trained at Laban on the BA Hons Programme where she received a First Class Honours Degree in 2009. 

While at Laban, Kassie worked with Tom Dale and Kerry Nicholls. After graduation Kassie joined VERVE and worked on a UK and European tour performing works by David Zambrano, Michael Schumacher, Luis Malvasias and Lailla Diallo.

 

Since graduating Kassie has danced for Antiques Dance Company, The Mostly Everything People, Stewart Kennedy Dance and for TLDT. Recently Kassie has been working on collaborations between acrobats and dancers, working with the Exhibitionists on the Exhibition Road Show and for Nike UVA installation. Kassie joined Cathy Waller Company in 2012

Yukiko Masui

Dancer

 

Yukiko Masui was born in Japan and started her training in Hip-Hop and Latin dance at the age of 16. 

 

In 2008, she moved to London in order to pursue a Diploma in Dance Studies at Laban where she was awarded with "The Sylvia Bodmer Prize" for her research into Hip-Hop using Choreological Studies. She was selected for the BBC programme "So You Think You Can Dance" as one of the TOP 30 dancers. In 2011, she toured with Transitions Dance Company nationally and internationally as part of her MA degree. 

 

Since then she has worked with various choreographers and dance companies such as Jose Agudo, Lea Anderson, ADiaspora Collective, Clod Ensemble, Tamsin Fitzgerald, Avant Garde, Christopher Marney and Melanie Teal. 

Yukiko can also be seen in music videos by Coldplay and DJ Fresh. Currently, she is working with Cathy Waller Company and Ace Dance and Music Company.

Emily Thompson - Smith

Dancer

 

Emily Thompson-Smith began her training at The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts graduating with a BA (Hons) First Class Degree in 2011. She then went on to pursue further training at London Contemporary Dance School where she gained her Masters Degree in contemporary dance performance in 2012 under the supervision of Elsa Bradley. 

 

During her training she worked with numerous choreographers such as Sasha Roubicek, Lisi Perry, Jorge Crecis and Richard Alston. Since graduating she has worked with James Wilton, Bim Malcomson, Petra Haureova, Attach Dance Company, Fallen Angels Dance Theatre and Raquel Claudino. Emily has also acted as assistant choreographer and rehearsal director for Jorge Crecis on commissions for Beijing 9 Contemporary Dance Theatre and Intoto Dance Company. 

 

Emily joined Cathy Waller Company in 2013. 

Maddy Morgan

Dancer

 

Maddy was born in London. Her dance training started in hip-hop and street dance styles and at 16 she joined hip-hop theatre company, Impact Dance. She started contemporary dance training at Lewisham College and then went on to study at Northern School of Contemporary Dance, graduating in 2010 with First Class Honours Degree. 

 

Since graduating Maddy has worked with Uchenna Dance Company, ADiaspora Collective and Rhiannon Faith: Dancing Theatre. This summer Maddy worked with Circus Theatre director Sue Broadway as part of "The Exhibitionists", an international troupe of circus performers and dancers, as part of London 2012 festival. Maddy has also appeared in music videos including "Night Light" (Jessie Ware).

Maddy first worked with Cathy Waller in 2011 on Cathy's "Dance Film" and went on to join the company in 2012.

Gareth Mole

Dancer

 

Gareth graduated from London Contemporary Dance School with a first class degree in 2010. Whilst there he performed work by Richard Alston, Siobhan Davies, Aletta Collins, Marc Brew and Kerry Nicholls. He also performed in James Cousins' work 'The Still Point' at Buckingham Palace for Prince Andrew's 50th birthday celebrations and Burgos International Dance Competition.

 

Since graduating, from LCDS, Gareth joined National Dance Company Wales, under the artistic direction of Ann Sholem, performing works by Ohad Naharin, Itzik Galili, Stephen Petronio, Gustavo Rameriez, Eleesha Young Drennan, Christopher Bruce and Angelin Preljocaj. He also created several pieces for NDCWales' associate scheme and, himself, for the company's Alternative Routes Platform. After leaving NDCWales in 2013, Gareth has worked with James Wilton, Renaud Wiser, James Cousins, Lloyd Newson's DV8 and most recently with Jonathan Lunn on a production of Carousel the musical and a brand new production of the Baroque Opera, Ariadne Die Schöne Und Getreue. Gareth was also named, Dancing Times dancer of the month August 2012.
